This policy explains what information JM Plumbing, Heating & Cooling LLC (“we”, “us”) collects when you use this website or contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are a plumbing, heating and cooling contractor based at 9 Eastside Ave, Wanaque, NJ 07465.
The short version
We collect the contact details you give us so we can respond to your request, and we use standard web analytics and Google advertising cookies to understand how people find us. We do not sell your personal information. If you want your information deleted, call (201) 675-0147 or email info@jmplumbingnj.com and we will take care of it.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit a form on this site, or call, text or email us, we collect what you choose to provide. That typically includes:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address, if you provide one
- Your town or service address
- A description of the work you need
We ask for this because we cannot quote or schedule plumbing work without it. Providing it is voluntary, but we will not be able to help you without at least a way to reach you.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server and analytics tools automatically record technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring website, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. This site uses them for analytics and advertising as described below. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings — every major browser allows this — though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our site — which pages they visit, how long they stay, and how they arrived. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your IP address (which Google truncates or anonymises), browser type, device type, and the pages you view.
This information is aggregated and used to improve the website. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google Ads, conversion tracking and remarketing
We advertise through Google Ads. To measure whether our advertising works, and to show our ads to people who have previously visited this website, we use Google’s advertising cookies and similar technologies. Specifically:
- Conversion tracking — tells us that someone who clicked one of our ads later called us or submitted a form. We see totals, not the identity of the individual.
- Remarketing — allows our ads to be shown to you on other websites and apps in the Google Display Network after you have visited this site.
- Call tracking — where a Google forwarding number is displayed, Google may record that a call took place, its duration, and the caller’s area code.
Google and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits. You can control this directly:
- Manage or turn off personalised advertising at Google My Ad Center.
- Opt out of participating vendors’ interest-based ads at optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Review how Google handles data at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Opting out of personalised advertising does not stop you from seeing ads. It stops them from being tailored to you.
3. Form submissions
Our contact forms are delivered through Formspree, a third-party form processing service. When you submit a form, the information you entered passes through Formspree’s systems and is then emailed to us. Formspree processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy policy.
4. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote
- To schedule, perform and follow up on work you have requested
- To invoice you and keep business records
- To contact you about your job, including scheduling changes
- To improve this website and understand how visitors find us
- To measure the effectiveness of our advertising
- To comply with legal, tax, licensing and insurance obligations
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We share information only in these situations:
- Service providers who operate this site or our business on our behalf — our web host, Formspree, Google, and our invoicing and scheduling software. They may use your information only to perform services for us.
- Suppliers and manufacturers, where necessary to order parts or register equipment warranties in your name.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or that of others.
- Business transfer — if the business is sold or merged, records may transfer to the new owner.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to respond and follow up. Records relating to work performed — invoices, permits, warranties — are kept as long as required for tax, licensing, warranty and insurance purposes, which is generally seven years. You can ask us to delete information we are not legally required to keep.
7. Your rights and choices
You may contact us at any time to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- Ask us to stop contacting you
New Jersey residents. Under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act, New Jersey residents have the right to confirm whether we process their personal data, to access and correct it, to request deletion, to obtain a copy of it, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, or profiling. We do not sell personal data. To exercise any of these rights, or to appeal a decision we make about a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timeframes the law requires.
Residents of other states with similar privacy laws may have comparable rights, and we will honour valid requests on the same basis.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to it, and this site does not currently respond to DNT signals. Where we are legally required to recognise an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control, we will honour it.
9. Text messages
If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your job — confirming appointments, arrival times, or follow-up. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of further texts.
10. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including serving this website over an encrypted connection and limiting access to customer records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send payment card numbers or other sensitive financial details through the contact form or by email.
11. Children
This site is intended for adults arranging services for a property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Links to other sites
This site may link to other websites, such as manufacturer pages or Google Maps. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not operate. Review their policies separately.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The revised version will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will be made clear.
