24/7 Emergency Plumbing & Heating
Some problems cannot wait for business hours. A burst pipe puts water into the structure of your house by the minute, a sewer backup is a health hazard, and no heat in a New Jersey January puts every pipe in the building at risk. Those calls get answered around the clock.
What we handle
- Burst and frozen pipes
- Major leaks and water pouring from ceilings
- Sewer and drain backups
- No heat during freezing weather
- Water heater failure and tank rupture
- Gas leaks and gas odor (call the utility and 911 first)
- Sump pump failure during heavy rain
- No water to the property
- Overflowing or backing-up toilets
What to do before we arrive
For a burst pipe or major leak
Shut off the main water valve — usually in the basement where the line enters, or in a crawlspace near the front of the house. Turn it clockwise until it stops. Then open the lowest faucet in the house to drain the remaining pressure. If water is near electrical panels or outlets, shut the power to that area off at the breaker.
For a sewer backup
Stop using water immediately — no flushing, no laundry, no dishwasher. Every gallon you send down adds to what comes back up. Keep people and pets away from the affected area.
For no heat in freezing weather
Open cabinet doors under sinks on exterior walls, let a pencil-thin trickle run from the faucet furthest from the main, and keep interior doors open to move what heat remains. If the house will be below freezing for an extended period and we cannot reach you in time, the water should be shut off and the system drained.

If you smell gas
Do not use any phone, light switch, or appliance inside the building. Do not look for the leak. Get everyone outside and away from the building, then call your gas utility’s emergency line and 911 from outside or from a neighbor’s.
Call us after the utility has made the property safe. We will handle the repair to the line or appliance.

24/7 Emergency Plumbing & Heating — questions we get
Do you really answer the phone at 2am?
Emergency calls reach us around the clock. Call (201) 675-0147 and describe the situation — we will tell you honestly whether it needs someone tonight or whether it can safely wait until morning, and what to do in the meantime either way.
Where is my main water shutoff?
In most northern New Jersey homes it is in the basement on the wall facing the street, near where the water line enters, often close to the meter. In homes on a slab it may be in a utility closet or crawlspace. It is worth finding it now, while nothing is wrong, and making sure it actually turns.
Is a small leak an emergency?
Not usually, but do not let it run for days. A slow leak inside a wall causes rot and mold that costs far more than the plumbing repair. If you can contain it with a bucket and the water is not near electrical, it can generally wait for a next-day appointment.
What counts as an emergency for no heat?
Any loss of heat when outdoor temperatures are near or below freezing, because of the pipe-freeze risk to the whole building. If it is mild out and the house is holding temperature, we can schedule you first thing rather than charging emergency rates.
