How we approach a repair
Most plumbing calls come down to finding the real problem rather than the obvious one. A stain on a ceiling is rarely directly under the leak. A toilet that runs intermittently is usually a worn flapper, but sometimes it is a cracked fill valve or a partially closed supply stop.
We start with diagnosis — isolating the fixture or line, checking pressure, and inspecting connected runs. Then we explain what we found, what it will cost, and what happens if it waits. Nothing gets replaced that does not need replacing.

Older homes and older pipe
Much of northern New Jersey’s housing stock predates 1960, which means galvanized steel supply lines and cast iron drain stacks are still common. Galvanized pipe corrodes from the inside, so pressure drops long before there is a visible leak. Cast iron drains scale and crack at the hub.
We repair both, and when a system has reached the end of its life we will tell you plainly rather than selling repair after repair. Partial repipes — replacing the worst runs while leaving sound pipe in place — are often the sensible middle path.
Gas line work
Gas work is not a place to cut corners. Every gas line we install is pressure tested and, where required, inspected by the local building department before it is put into service. We handle new appliance hookups, generator feeds, outdoor grill lines, and repairs to existing piping.
If you smell gas, do not call from inside the building. Leave, then call your gas utility’s emergency line and 911 from outside.

Plumbing Repair & Installation — questions we get
How quickly can you come out for a plumbing repair?
For non-emergency repairs we typically schedule within one to two business days, and we hold same-day slots for urgent problems. Active leaks, no water, and sewer backups are treated as emergencies and handled the same day whenever possible.
Do you charge for an estimate?
We quote the repair price before starting work, so you approve the number first. For diagnostic visits where the cause is not yet known, a service call fee applies and is credited toward the repair if you proceed. Call (201) 675-0147 and we will explain exactly what your situation will cost.
Should I repair or replace old galvanized pipe?
If you are seeing rusty water, weak pressure at multiple fixtures, and repeated pinhole leaks, the pipe is telling you it is done. One or two isolated leaks in otherwise sound pipe are worth repairing. We will walk the system with you and give you an honest read rather than a default answer.
Can you fix a leak without tearing open the whole wall?
Usually, yes. We locate the leak first so the opening is as small as possible, and we cut cleanly so the patch is straightforward. We will always tell you before we open anything and show you what is behind it.
